Puerto de Mogan

in opposite other tourist places like Puerto Rico, Taurito, or Playa del Ingles, Puerto de Mogán has a long history. Until the early eighties, the place was almost exclusively achieved at the waterways. Today's Puerto de Mogán with reclaimed sand beach and the harbor was built from 1983 to 1988 after a design by Raphael Neville. The picturesque and tranquil town is on the basis of some channels that lead from the port in the city, sometimes called "Little Venice" or the "Venice of the South" referred to. The many small alleys that run through the village, contribute to the appearance. It was built a lot in the past few years, but efforts were being devoted to obtain by post-modern architecture, a part of the original charm. The government Gran Canary has banned, to build directly in Puerto de Mogán houses with more than two floors high. Thus, the former fishing village former in its origin has remained largely intact despite tourism.
